Buck Curran is an American folk/psych‑folk artist known for his deeply expressive solo works and his earlier work as half of the duo Arborea. Born May 23, 1967 in Cocoa Beach, Florida, and raised in the Detroit area, Curran has lived and performed across the U.S. and Europe, currently based in Bergamo, Italy.
Curran’s music draws from traditional folk and blues, psych‑folk, American primitive guitar, and meditative drone textures. He uses acoustic and electric guitar, harmonium, and occasional vocals, often exploring open tunings, alternate tunings, slide and overdub effects to create atmospheric soundscapes.
He has released multiple solo albums (such as Immortal Light, Morning Haikus, Afternoon Ragas, No Love Is Sorrow) and curated tribute and compilation projects for influences like Robbie Basho, Jack Rose, and related folk guitar traditions.
