Colin Stetson

Colin Stetson is a genre-defying saxophonist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his powerful solo performances and innovative use of extended techniques. Blending elements of experimental jazz, avant-garde classical, ambient, and post-rock, Stetson creates dense, hypnotic soundscapes using circular breathing, percussive key work, and layered textures—all performed live with no looping. A frequent collaborator with artists like Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, Tom Waits, and Sarah Neufeld, he’s also an acclaimed film composer (Hereditary, The Menu). Stetson’s music is physical, visceral, and deeply emotional—pushing the boundaries of what the saxophone can express.
