Nilam LP (Leiter)

Nilam (released May 23, 2025) is the latest album by Ganavya, a New York-born, Tamil Nadu-raised singer known for her fusion of Indian classical music and spiritual jazz. Co-produced by Nils Frahm at LEITER Studio in Berlin’s Funkhaus complex, the album features bassist Max Ridley and harpist Charles Overton. The title, "Nilam," translates to "land" in Tamil, reflecting themes of grounding, identity, and spiritual connection. The album's standout track is the nearly 10-minute "Nine Jeweled Prayer," featuring her parents, Ganesan and Vidya Doraiswamy. Other notable tracks include "Not a Burden" and "Sees Fire," both praised for their emotional depth and meditative quality.
