Dave Douglas and his longstanding quintet present "Songs of Ascent." Taking inspiration from the biblical Psalms, this work encompasses 16 tracks, the first 8 are included in this release, while the subsequent 8 can be found on the companion album "Steps." Utilizing a contemporary jazz quintet, Douglas and his ensemble infuse these Psalms with a contemporary flair.
