Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy is Jeff Parker’s first live and double-album release, documenting long-form, groove-driven sessions by his ensemble, the ETA IVtet—featuring alto saxophonist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss, and drummer Jay Bellerose. Captured over numerous Monday-night performances in 2019–2021 at a cozy L.A. bar named after a location in Infinite Jest, the album curates four side-length tracks drawn from over ten hours of two-track recordings. The result is a hypnotic fusion of lyrical improvisation, ambient room tones, and expressive interplay—imbued with patience, grace, and a mesmerizing sense of atmosphere.
