Set 1: SEXMOB - March 6, 2026, 8 PM.
Set 2: Jacob Garchik's YE OLDE - March 6, 2026, 9:30 PM.
SEXMOB is:
Steven Bernstein, slide trumpet, Briggan Kraus, saxophones, Tony Scherr, bass, and Kenny Wollesen on drums.
Emerging from the Knitting Factory scene of the mid-'90s, SEXMOB have changed the game with their raw, improvisatory groove and swing, endlessly inventive arrangements and uproarious sense of fun, exhibiting high musical standards while blithely blowing past all rigid boundaries of genre and musical hierarchies.
Tearing into witty and funky new arrangements of little-known Jazz nuggets from the 1920s and 30s, as well as radically transforming songs by artists such as Prince and the Beatles, Steven Bernstein (GRAMMY-nominated Composer/Sexmob Trumpeter) leads an improvisational outfit playing irreverent 21st-century Jazz. The band is consistently praised for uniting sexy grooves spanning a century of music from Don Redman to Sly Stone to the present with Free Jazz Abandon.
Playing music from their recent release “Ye Olde 2: At the End of Time”, named one of the Top 10 jazz albums of the year--Influenced by sci-fi concept albums by Chick Corea and Lenny White, Spinal Tap, 70s Hanna-Barbera cartoons, and the rising scales of Ligeti’s etudes for piano, it’s a wildly fun band that showcases some serious musicianship.
Jacob Garchik is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and trombonist based in New York since 1994. A key figure in the Downtown and Brooklyn scenes, he works across jazz, contemporary classical, and global brass traditions. He has released seven albums as a leader, including The Heavens: The Atheist Gospel Trombone Album, and co-leads Brooklyn’s premier Mexican brass band, Banda de los Muertos.
Both set tickets include 35% off combined single-set pricing.
