Wolff Parkinson White | Brian Charette - Electronica Series!
Join us at Loove Annex on January 17th for a very special double bill featuring two boundary-pushing electronic visionaries: Wolff Parkinson White and Brian Charette.
Wolff Parkinson White is the avant-electronica producer persona of percussionist and composer Jochen Rueckert—an extraordinary, seasoned musician and true conceptual powerhouse. His electronic music has to be heard to be believed: formidable, completely original, daring, and relentless, exploring the many colors of lightly controlled chaos through progressive synthesis.
Rueckert has been programming uncompromising, hard-to-categorize electronic music since 2007. The moniker refers to an innate heart condition he suffered from until an ablation at age 19—essentially faulty wiring of the heart resulting in episodes of rapid, irregular heartbeat—an uncanny parallel to the erratic rhythmic complexity that defines his sound. Polyrhythms, alternate tuning systems, absurd audio processing, and random-function-aided improvisation dominate his work, yet a refined sense of harmony and song structure shines through, particularly on collaborations with vocalists such as Gabriel Kahane and Norah Jones on the album Favours.
This Saturday’s solo performance will be presented through a carefully tuned, high-end analog sound system, likely accompanied by live video. It’s a rare opportunity not to be missed—music that speaks directly to the future and next stages of several schools of musical thought converging at once.

Brian Charette is a sound magician: a virtuoso keyboardist best known for his ears, his deep pocket, and his masterful understanding of tone, color, and placement. While long celebrated for his work on piano and Hammond organ, Charette has evolved into an extraordinary electronic musician. During the pandemic he launched Tuesday Night Electronica, composing and broadcasting continuous, expansive, bumping sets with effortless transitions from his lab—earning a devoted following and landing him at #6 in the 2024 DownBeat Critics’ Poll for electronic keyboards.
Charette’s solo electronic sets translate his distinctive minimalist compositions into immersive sound environments using drum machines, analog synthesizers, unusual samples, and quirky modular systems. This performance offers a unique chance to experience his thoughtful, popping, and surprising electronic world in a completely new field.
With great music, nothing is the same afterward.
