Join us as OLDUVAI creates new openings, possibilities and certainties in our performance lab, SATURDAY OCT 25!
Named after Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania, (the “Cradle of Mankind” where early humans first roamed) OLDUVAI emerged in mid-1970s Philly as a force exploring free improvisation, sound poetry, and expansive electronic atmospheres.
The ensemble is rebooted here with two extraordinary collaborators- the celebrated multi-brass man Stephen Haynes and expansive drummer Andrew Drury.This evening is designed to expand the threshold of sound, merging extended techniques, electronics, and poetry - a sonic dialogue across generations and the creative sound communities of NYC and PA.
